THE MERMAID OR FIT & FLARE

This shape can work for array of Body shapes, fitted from the bodice to the Mid thigh and then gradually flares out, If you are looking to show off your curves then this is your gal, it will hug you in the right places and the flare at the bottom will balance out a bigger bust.

Things to consider!

If you are looking to bust some moves on the dancefloor you may need to reconsider, also a less charming thought this dress will need to come off EVERYTIME you need to use the loo.

THE A-LINE

Ah the A-LINE is flattering and often the favourite of all dress shapes. It pretty much suits all body shapes like the letter ‘A’ the bodice is fitted to the waist and the skirt gradually flares out. if it’s a waist you are after then this is possibly your shape, a classic wedding dress shape that will hide a multitude of sins.

Things to consider

This dress will suit all body shapes but will not show your body off, so if looking for a figure hugger this is not for you.

THE UNSTRUCTURED DRESS

The unstructured relaxed dress, these dresses are without any corsetry or boning to speak of, often have an illusion front or back, and made from delicate naked tulles, embroidery or soft Crepes and silks.

Things to Consider

These dresses can work on quite a few body shapes but leave little or nothing to the imagination, most definatley not for those who have a big bust as a little cup is all that is in place for support.

THE STRUCTURED DRESS

Corset or no Corset? A corset is hidden inside a dress for a couple of reasons, It will take your waist in and give you the most amazing shape, it also takes the weight of the dress to ensure there’s not going to be any slippage throughout the most important day of your life. they work amazingly for fuller busts and figures and enhancing for smaller figures.

Things to consider

These dresses will be higher in price for the workmanship that has gone into it with the corsetry and boning.

THE BALLGOWN

I always think of Belle from Beauty and the beast when I think of a Ballgown, layers of fabric and linings with stiffened tulle. This can suit quite a few body shapes enhancing the waist and hiding anything below it.

Things to Consider

If you are small as the skirt can appear to be wearing you as opposed to the other way round.

This is my guide to the wedding dresses you are likely to come across in your appointment. My advice would be have in mind the dress shape you like but keep an open mind as that may change, I’m here to help you find that dress and for you to look and feel the very best version of you once you have found it.
